Había investigado Furnas y Cocina Geotérmica ofrecida en toda la ciudad. Creo que en la mayoría de los restaurantes es necesario reservar con un día de antelación para los diferentes Cozidos, etc. El sitio web de Caldeiras & Vulcoes era fácil de navegar y mi correo electrónico con reserva se reafirmó rápidamente. Su menú es variado, así que algo para todos. El restaurante está situado en el extremo este de la ciudad, cerca de las calderías humeantes = interesante. (Para tu información, el restaurante está subiendo escaleras.) También fuimos al lago donde se cocina la mayoría de las comidas. Si llegas alrededor de las 10: 30:30 ¶ Podrías atrapar a los hombres transfiriendo las enormes ollas a/desde los pozos de vapor. ¡Ahora a la comida! Tuvimos el tradicional Cozido para dos con una mezcla de carnes, salchichas y verduras. El arroz fue servido de lado. Las porciones son gigantes y creo que podríamos haber compartido una. Pudimos traer las sobras no comidas de vuelta a nuestro alquiler de vacaciones. Toda la comida me recordó a la cena hervida de Nueva Inglaterra. Y me encantó la Morcela (salvia de sangre).

Super Erfahrung das „Cozido das Furnas“ zu probieren. Viel Fleisch in jeder Form. Dazu eine super Weinempfehlung vom Chef, problemlose Reservierung per Mail (mind. 24 Stunden vor Besuch bei der Spezialität Cozido) und aufmerksamer Service. Aufgrund der Menhe braucht es keine Vorspeise ;-) Der Ananas-Nachtisch war der Beste der ganzen Reise!

28/09/2024: This was an attractive restaurant, but we both came away disappointed with our meals. My wife had the gnocchi with vegetables dish. The gnocchi was gigantic and not very good. I had the breast of chicken which was a better choice, but still was below my expectations given the setting and prices.
11/09/2024: After a delightful, long walk in the garden, my husband and I stopped for late lunch at the Restaurant. A large and bright space; we were happy to get a table by the window and pleased with the expedient service we received. Both of us were happy with our meals and I was especially delighted by the presentation of my dish. The cod was wrapped in strips of Zuchinni and looked like a work of art. Desserts were as delicious as lunch and the whole dining experience was enhanced by the high level of service. It also made it very easy and comfortable that everyone in the restaurant spoke English very well. When we first arrived the restaurant was full and though not loud; we could not hear the music being played over the system. But when everyone left; we sat at our table savoring our pleasant surroundings which included a gentle piano playing popular tunes. Perfect.

27/08/2024: Great place to eat at least for lunch that is. We took a tour from our hotel with the best driver ever and he took us here. We had the famous stew which is cooked in the heat of the volcanos near lake Furnas. They have underground pots in a hole they cover and slow cook every day. What a treat. It had corned beef, pork belly, cabbage, carrots, turnip, blood sausage, chorizo and who knows what else. The flavor of the meat and vegetables was to die for if you like the ingredients. A must if you are in the Azores. Service was outstanding but it is a busy place. Very clean and the owner greets you at the door. Parking is a little difficult and there are stairs to go up to the main dining area with no elevator. Yummy!
04/05/2024: Si vas a Furnas no dejes de probar el cocido elaborado en las fumarolas o caldeiras de esta localidad en alguno de sus restaurantes. Yo lo hice en este que se encontraba abarrotado de clientes y el trato fue exquisito y el producto también. No dudaría en volver. Los equipos que trabajan bien saltan a la vista. Este es uno de ellos. ¡Felicitaciones al personal!
