As Asinhas em Lagos

19/09/2024: We had a wonderful evening at Comidinha restaurante. If you are staying in or around Porta de Mos, you must plan a visit as you will not be disappointed. Firstly, the warm welcome from the owners who went above and beyond to welcome us and make us feel relaxed and comfortable. The restaurant is tastefully decorated in traditional style, well lit and very clean. The owners were extremely hospitable, discussing the wine menu and food menu in detail. We chose wine by the glass, and there is a really good selection and Tess provided a good commentary around our choices, opening new bottles to allow us to taste. Her recommendations were excellent and the servings were very generous. The star of the show is the food! Absolutely mouthwatering. We were focused on the seafood and were not disappointed. Beautifully prepared and seasoned, and incredibly flavoursome. I do wish I had a bigger appetite so I could have tried all of the menu! We also enjoyed the home-made fiery peri-peri condiment. We just wish this could be sold separately to take back home! Service was really lovely and we had a lovely friendly conversation with the owners. We tried a few other restaurants when visiting Old Lagos and whilst we enjoyed ourselves, none of them could compare to Comidinha. This is an absolute treasure of a restaurant. Book a reservation and enjoy the experience. You will not be disappointed!

18/09/2024: Would highly recommend for superb authentic Portuguese food. We had the seafood sizzler and the fish sizzler, both of which were delicious. Garlic prawns to die for! Ian and Tess were very welcoming and informative – the wine was good too and very reasonable. We'll be back :)
